GHG Accounting supported the City of Castlegar and Cover Architectural Collaborative Inc in seeking federal funding to replace the Chamber of Commerce to meet passive house standards. Our role was to conduct the GHG Mitigation Assessment under the Climate Lens Guidelines as required by the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. The assessment involved quantifying anticipated GHG emissions and reductions from construction, operations, and maintenance of the new building compared to a baseline. An 88% reduction was identified due to the passive house strategies, mainly due to operational energy reductions and a greater life span. Climate Lens Assessment
